Congratulations are due for the Cutler clan as they welcomed their second baby bear Jaxon this Wednesday – just in time for the NFL draft!
Kristin Cavallari made the announcement on behalf of her and Chicago Bears’ quarterback hubby Jay Cutler over Instagram.
The 27-year-old ex-reality star is not only a mother of two little guys, but also a shoe and jewelry designer and host of the Fabulist on E! What I want to know is how she looked so fabulous throughout both of her pregnancies?
The couple’s first nugget, Camden, will turn two in August. It’s a boys club at the Cutler casa!
Bet ya didn’t know the Seattle Seahawks have a deaf fullback until Duracell made this inspiring commercial. Derrick Coleman narrates a quick montage of his life as a deaf football player and his will to never give up.
Coleman says, “I’ve been deaf since I was three, so I didn’t listen,” annnnd queue your chills.
Coleman is the first deaf offensive player to ever play in the NFL. He played college ball at UCLA where he had an impressive career and yet was not drafted in 2012. This is his first season with the Seahawks where he had 3 catches for 30 yards, and also caught a touchdown pass against the Saints in the Monday Night Football game on December 2nd.
Honestly, I hope he catches the game winning pass against the 49ers this week and sends the Seahawks to the SuperBowl.
Good work Duracell, that’s a commercial I’m not about to forget.
What in the world happened on Sunday? I was feeling pretty down and out after watching the Chicago Bears not only lose to the Redskins 45-41, but also their leaders on both ends of the field. And then I watched the highlights from all over the league and I felt a sense of relief for the Bears injury report.
How could I possibly say the Bears “lucked out” when quarterback Jay Cutler is out for potentially 4-6 weeks (it could be longer) with a groin tear and Lance Briggs is out for 6 weeks with a fracture in his left shoulder?
Well, check out this other laundry list of injuries from last Sunday:
Sam Bradford: Torn ACL
He’s out for the year and the Rams are currently auditioning quarterbacks – yup it’s week 8.
Brian Cushing: Broken Leg and torn LCL
Texans fans were upset when runningback Arian Foster injured his hamstring after the first possession against Kansas City Sunday, little did they know it was going to get much worse.
Linebacker Brian Cushing was later carted off the field. This guy can’t catch a break, he tore his ACL in the same knee last October.
Reggie Wayne: Torn ACL
This may very well be the end of Mr. Wayne’s illustrious career as a wide receiver for the Colts.
Doug Martin: Torn Labrum (shoulder muscle)
This injury requires season ending surgery for the year 2 Tampa Bay running back.
Jermichael Finley: Out of Intensive Care
The Packers’ tight end suffered a serious neck injury when he took a blow to the head from Cleveland’s Gipson during the fourth quarter. He’s regained all movement, but football is the farthest thing from his mind.
His recovery process it TBD
And that is just the list of season ending injuries. This bad juju better be out of the NFL. I wish all these guys a smooth and healthy recovery.
*Check your fantasy teams friends, if yours is anything like mine you may not have any active players in your starting lineup!
And so my love affair with Brandon Marshall continues…
During the Chicago Bears’ Thursday night game against the New York Giants, Brandon Marshall supported a cause different from the NFL’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Instead, Marshall rocked LIME green cleats to support Mental Health Awareness Week; a cause much closer to his heart.
The Bears’ wide receiver started the buzz about his lime green kicks earlier this week to create more awareness for an illness he not only supports, but also lives with. In 2011 Marshall took an admirable step and went public with his multiple personality disorder diagnosis. He instantly turned his reputation around (bad boy to vulnerable) while also becoming the face of a mental disorder so many people also deal with.
Reports had said the NFL would prevent Marshall from taking the field with the green cleats on, but then those fuddy-duddies had a change of heart. The league ruled that Marshall would be allowed to play and support his cause, but would be fined for the uniform violation. Marshall came back and said he would double the cost of the fine and donate it to his favorite foundation. Take that rules.
To top things off, Chicago’s #1 WR took things to the next level scoring two touchdowns under the lights of Soldier Field. Yup – love that. Oh, and I LOVE this purple bow tie.
BMarsh has brought national attention to the disorder throughout the week and Thursday night during the national broadcast. Ultimately, Marshall hopes that through awareness he can help others learn to cope with their condition.
Before you head out and about this weekend for college football or to watch your NFL guys, check out Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake break down the End Zone dance #peeyourpantsfunny
Mr. Fallon wasn’t done after displaying his moves with JT! Real satisfaction could only come after a REAL NFL player performed one of his touchdown dances. Because end zone dancing is frowned upon in the NFL, Fallon offered to match the $10,000 fine from the league and donate it to that player’s favorite charity.
Rookie tight end Joseph Fauria took to some N’SYNC after he scored his five yard touchdown during the Lions’ 27-20 win over the Redskins on Sunday.
Fauria tweeted “you may hate me, but it ain’t no lie” after Sunday’s game. He may have only been 10 years old when “Bye Bye Bye” was released, but it looks like we have a JT fan on our hands. “We were going nuts,” Fallon said on the show. “We all saw it on Twitter and we were going crazy.”
The NFL didn’t end up fining Fauria, however Fallon stuck to his word and donated $10,000 to the charity of the rookie’s choice.
As I watched Marc Trestman during his first “official” post game press conference as the Chicago Bears head coach (preseason doesn’t count), I couldn’t help but ask myself “why does he look so familiar?”
Then it clicked, Marc Trestman looks a whole lot like Bill Nye the Science Guy. After watching countless episodes during science class throughout elementary school and junior high, I’m embarrassed it took me so long to recognize the resemblance.
In all honesty, I could care less if Bill Nye was actually coaching the Bears as long as the team plays well.
Trestman made some gutsy calls during the Bears home opener on Sunday and I’m very excited to see what else the rookie Head Coach has in store for Chicago this season. Marc, Marc, Marc, Marc, Marc, Marc!
How sweet it is to be Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari. After their romantic Nashville nuptials earlier in June, the newlyweds headed to Italy to enjoy the breathtaking views. Mrs. Cutler took to Twitter and Instagram to share some of her favorite shots from their honeymoon.
I have to say, a nice little tan does our Bears Quarterback some good. It was the perfect time for Cutler to head out of town before pig-skin-mania begins in August as the highly anticipated football season approaches (38 days until the regular season whoop).
Cavallari followed up her honeymoon photos with a tweet that said: “Just had the most amazing 2 weeks in Italy! My jeans are tight so u know it was a success ha.” Too bad I don’t believe her, she’s still looking skinny-mini in her photos!
