Chicago’s masked man Richard Hamilton returned to the Bulls starting lineup tonight against the Houston Rockets, after missing 14 games due to a right shoulder contusion. Unfortunately the return of “Rip City” wasn’t enough to prevent a back-to-back loss for the Bulls. The 99-93 loss came right after the Bulls got spanked by the OKC Thunder Sunday afternoon.
In his first game back, Rip had six points, three assists and five nasty turnovers during the 20 minutes he played tonight. We’re going to say he was a little “rusty” and won’t hold it against him, however he better clean up that rust and put on his jump-shot pants for the upcoming game against the Celtics this Thursday.
The Bulls haven’t suffered two consecutive regular season losses since February of 2011. What’s really missing? Our super star Derrick Rose, who has missed 11 games for his groin injury. Without Rose the Bulls lack a closer and one of their most intimidating factors. I’m starting to worry whether the Bulls will be able to maintain their number one spot in the Eastern Conference, or will they slowly start to climb down the rankings? As of right now, Rose’s return date has not been determined, hopefully before the playoffs begin.
I’m a little worried to see what Rajon Rondo does to the Bulls on Thursday. He’s a dirty player (in my book – he will never be forgiven for throwing that punch at Rose in the playoffs a few years back) and he happens to have back to back triple doubles. We’re going to need to see a little “Deng Bang” a little “Booze Cruise” some “Messy-Bun Swagger” and a splash of “Hot Sauce” to get back on the winning track.
